The Wagram region is the high-flyer among Austria’s micro-regions. Its wine has put it on the map and it is the wine, which characterises the appearance of this extraordinary cultural landscape on the Danube.
Loess gives the Wagram region its unmistakable and harmonic dramaturgy.Loess is the base on which the Wagram region rests; and the deep, loamy-sandy soil plays a prominent role in the birth of the wine. It lends the wine unmistakable character. Nine tenths of all vineyards in the Wagram region rest on Loess.
Our reeds are situated in the best locations, around Kirchberg. In recent years we have created an independent range of quality wines. Our main varieties are Grüner Veltliner and Zweigelt, followed by Frühroter Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay, Welschriesling and Rivaner. We are especially proud of our cuvée ‘Spartacus’ of Merlot and Zweigelt.
